Key duties include preparing and leveling sub-bases, mixing and pouring concrete, and ensuring all surfaces meet high-quality standards. You will also be skilled in drainage installation, hard landscaping, and site cleanup, while always following health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Surface finishing: Lay kerbs, edgings, and slabs accurately to line and level, often using compactors and laser levels.
- Concrete work: Mix, pour, and finish concrete or mortar for bedding and jointing according to project specifications.
- Site preparation: Prepare and level sub-bases to ensure a solid foundation for finishing work.
- Drainage: Install and work with drainage systems and manholes.
- Landscaping: Perform hard landscaping, topsoiling, and driveway installation.
- Quality control: Check levels, falls, and alignments to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with design specifications.
- Equipment use: Safely and effectively use a variety of tools and equipment, including cutters, trowels, and small plant.
- Safety and maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work area, perform pre-operation checks on equipment, and adhere to all health and safety protocols.
- Team support: Support other groundwork and concreting activities as needed.
- Reporting: Identify and report any issues, such as poor ground conditions or damaged materials.
You will be able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency, care and skill. Must have CSCS card.
